It comes as no surprise that Tim is as much into Halloween as I am.

Here he is picking out a pumpkin:

And here he is modelling his new Halloween bandana, made especially for him by the official South Stanley Park Ambassador, Hazel. ¬† Lookin’ good!

Stay tuned for an official Halloween costume reveal!  Hint: This streamlined dog will become a little bit more amphibious.

More Pics from the Weekend

A big thanks to Lilly and Bailey for passing these photos on!

Pups and Protest

This weekend we attended a rally to support our local dog park at South Stanley.  The city is beginning a much needed renovation to the park, which will include a fully enclosed off leash dog area Рno doubt a wonderful addition to the park.  There is a bit of debate taking place, however.  There are two factions that represent the park who want different things.  One is to keep a single, unified dog area.  The other proposes a separate enclosed area for smaller dogs.  Personally, I am in favour of a unified space.  As the proposed off leash area will already be much smaller than the current space, I think its important to keep the off leash area as large as possible.  Also РTim is basically a huge dog trapped in a small dog body.  How could we possibly choose which space to put him in?!

The rally had an excellent turn out Рand even included a couple of visits by city council candidates for Trinity-Spadina.  Second Cup supplied hot coffee, and photographers were on hand to document the day, including this cute pic of Tim in an epic battle with Bailey.

There is currently a petition going around to keep a single, unified off leash area at the park.  This petition will be presented to City Hall November 1st.  If you use the park and would like to sign the petition, please contact me through this site, or by registering on South Stanley Dog Park Site and contacting its administrator.

This weekend we had a houseguest. ¬†Timmy’s best bud Cymbal came to stay the night with us for the very first time. ¬†Boy, was that ever exciting!

I anticipated some insanity, and I was not disappointed. ¬†These dogs ran a giant loop through my apartment for hours. ¬†And when they weren’t doing that, they were wrestling. ¬†And when they weren’t doing that, they were on epic walks on Queen West, and when they weren’t doing that, they ran in the park. ¬†All in all, it was completely nuts. ¬†I think we were all¬†grateful¬†when it was finally time for bed. ¬†They were up by 9:30 am, and did it all again the next day!

Since they were playing too much for me to get a pic of them in action, I was only able to get a few pics of them passed out in exhaustion:

When I see dogs with cute haircuts, or muddy fur I immediately think: ¬†Thank god I don’t have to have my dog groomed.

One of my favourite things about the Manchester Terrier is that, like cats, they are incredibly clean, and they never smell. ¬†Even if Tim gets dirty, I can just wipe him off with a washcloth or puppy wipe (yes, like a baby wipe, but for dogs. ¬†Ridiculous, I know…I am just SO Toronto). ¬† Even though the lack of fur means I spend more money on dog clothes, its still cheaper in the long run because I never, ever, have to take him to the groomer like the more fur-intensive breeds like Schnauzers, Cocker Spaniels or Poodles.

My friend was brushing her Akita, Hoss, at the park this weekend.  Can you believe all the fur that came out?  It was enough to make another small dog!

Last weekend we had our family over for a visit, including my darling Boston Terrier¬†niece, Sousa. ¬†Tim and Sousa always have a great time together, and last weekend was no exception. ¬†I think we were all surprised, however, to turn around and find a third dog in our living room! ¬†Living on the 11th floor of our condo building made this sudden ¬†appearance even a little more mysterious…

Who could this be?  And where did he come from?  Turns out, this teeny little Pomeranian was able to squeeze under the barrier between our balcony and the balcony next door!  Tim and Sousa were delighted, because this new addition could only mean 1 thing:  TAG TEAM!

Despite our best efforts (neighbours included), little Bentley is quite the Houdini, and manages to come over to play at least once a week.  He recently got a mohawk.  Cute!
