I am pleased to announce that last month Timmy graduated from Level II Obedience at Mother Knows Best!  Equipped with non-verbal commands, distance downs and more confidence, Tim is now ready to take on the world!   As my brother has become fond of saying: “God, is that dog in college yet?!”  Haha not exactly, but we have started a brand new Agility class!  Way to go Timmy!

Beach Day!

Today Tim Tam had the chance to head to the beach FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME with his BFF Cymbal, a black and tan dachshund .  It was a gorgeous day for a bit of sun and fun at the Cherry Beach off leash dog park.  Cymbal was quite comfortable with the water almost from the start, and before we knew it, he was in and swimming around.   Timmy?  Well…not so sure!  We eventually convinced him to come closer through the use of praise and TREATS!  Once he figured out the waves weren’t dangerous, he was in and having a BLAST!!!

It was pretty cute!  We got lots of attention for having 2 very different dogs with identical colouring.  Big thanks to Cymbal’s mom for taking us on such a fantastic adventure!

Oh poop!

I don’t know how it happens, but for some reason when you become a dog owner, you tend to also become an expert on poop.  And you talk about it, with strangers.   A comment on a previous poopy post also prompted me to write about the slightly embarrassing, and mostly hilarious incident that occurred today.

As many of you know, we have  just moved into the Thompson Hotel condo we bought pre-construction about 3 years ago.  While we are living here, we are also dealing with a large number of construction deficiencies.  This means that on a regular basis, tradesmen are coming in and out of the unit to conduct repairs and inspections.  Their boss, Jeff, came into the unit today with a master list to see what issues were completed, and which still needed attention.  Going from room to room, he ended up in the bathroom.  I joined him there after a few minutes, and noticed a rather pungent smell.  I thought he had farted.  Or more accurately, sharted.  It was nasty.  And I was kinda pissed, cause, like DUDE!  Could you not have waited 5 minutes till you left before letting something like that OUT?!

Then we went to inspect the shower, where I immediately noticed a huge pile of doggie diarrhea.  And. It. Smelled. HORRID!

Jeff and I both looked at each other and said, “I thought that was YOU!”   Hahaha.  At least we had a laugh over it!  And I think we were both secretly relieved that it hadn’t been the fault of the other!

I was so horrified as I stooped to clean it up while he continued his inspection.  He didn’t seem too fazed though, and let me know that with his dog, he had seen it ALL!  Made me feel a bit better anyway!   Another one for the recordbooks!  Thanks Tim!

Tim’s not the only high profile dog around, his cousin Sousa is a mover and a shaker in the high tech industry…

“That’s right Tim, buy rimm stock at 50!”
