Bringing Home Puppy

For the love of Dog

Timmy is my first dog.  I had wanted a dog my whole life.  I begged, and begged, and begged my parents to get me one.  Of course I would walk it everyday!  Of course I would feed it!  Duh!  After years, they gave in, and finally got me… a cat.  Now, I will be the first one to tell you that I loved that cat.  He was friendly, low maintenance, and so sweet.  And as most of my cat-hater friends will tell you, he was the only cat they ever liked.  When he died after a good long life, it was pretty sad.  This cat knew when I was coming home from University, because the day before he would start to sleep in my bed.  He slept with me all winter, and was always quite excited whenever I came home (well, as excited as a cat can get, which is basically just getting up from a nap and looking at you).

I always knew getting a dog would be different, and in many ways it is.  Its a heck of a lot more work.  Like a lot more.  Getting up in the morning and walking the dog, particularly on the weekends can be a bit of a bummer.  Lord help me once winter hits!  That being said, seeing your little doggie growing up and learning is so much fun.  Having him be falling over with excitment when you get home from work, or even back from the next room is such a great feeling, and it can bring you out of any kind of bad mood.

So its been fun.  Challenging, yes.  But just so much fun.

There is nothing like the unconditional love that a dog gives you, you are a god in their eyes. A cat looks at you and yawns,(unless they want something).
I am sure you are looking forward to those miserable, cold, stormy mornings when Timmy wants out and you can elbow Mike and tell him to get up!
