A question we get asked a lot (as in…everyday), is if Tim Tam is a Miniature Pinscher. The answer is, no! He is a Manchester Terrier, which is actually a predecessor of the Doberman. So far on our walks only 1 person has correctly identified little Timmy.
A great website on the difference between the Toy and Standard Manchester, as well as the Min Pin and Doberman is www.ebetmanchesters.com.

Toy Manchester, Standard Manchester, German Pinscher, Doberman Pinscher.
Our boy is a Toy…and by this pic it seems like he’s going to be quite small!
This is a Min Pin:

This is a Manchester:
So I guess the main difference in appearance is the naturally erect ears in the Toy Manchester (Standard Manchesters can have either the erect or the floppy), the natural tail (not cropped), and the long face. So, this Manchester terrier walks into a bar, and the bartender says, “Hey, why the long face”?
Okay, clearly, I should go to bed.
Night!
